The project was originally set up to help children affected by the tsunami in Phang Nga province, but has now widened to bring together four distinct groups of children from across the south. All of these children live in very vulnerable conditions. Here, Mod and her brother, two orphans from a Thai Buddhist community in Phang Nga, share a joke while doing homework outside their roadside shack, which they share with five other family members. They have little time to laugh, since they are more usually looking after their ageing grandmother and disabled uncle.<br />

The InSIGHT Out! project provides photography and creative writing training to marginalised children in southern Thailand. It is run by the NGO Grassroots for Human Rights Education and Development (GHRE), along with volounteer teachers from Bangkok University and the professional photographic community.
